Aquamation is a gentle process that uses warm water and alkalinity to accelerate the natural breakdown of organic matter. Once complete your companion is reduced to bone, just like flame-based cremation but without the negative environmental impacts. When individual cremation is chosen, the ashes are returned in an urn or vessel of your choice.

The actual aqumation takes about 20 hours, but drying, preparation, and packaging add time. Ashes are typically ready within 7-14 days and can be picked up at our Biddeford location or will be returned to any of our local partner hospitals that we serve.
